Journalism 360 Unconference Presentation

Our project AI Generated Anonymity in VR Journalism was presented and demonstrated by team members Steve DiPaola, Mike Lakusiak, and Reese Muntean at the Journalism 360 Unconference in New York, July 24-25 2018. This project was one of the 2017 Google/Knight Foundation Journalism 360 Challenge winners. Bringing together an interdisciplinary team from journalism, computer science, cognitive science, fine art and anthropology, we have researched and created a wholly new technique to anonymize interview subjects and scenes in regular and 360 video. Our goal is to create a working technique that would be much better at conveying emotional and knowledge information than current anonymization techniques.
