Reese Muntean launches 360-VR doc exhibit with UN’s One Planet Network, NYC
The Making Culture Lab has been working with the UN’s One Planet Network on the production of a series of 360° videos and the design of their installation at the UN Headquarters in NYC as part of the Camp One Planet exhibit at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development July 9-18, 2018.
The One Planet Network was formed to implement the 10 Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production. With six thematic programmes involved in high-impact projects around the world, this network’s efforts are leading the global shift to sustainable consumption and production while working towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 12, as well as supporting a host of the Sustainable Development Goals.
PhD student Reese Muntean travelled to Costa Rica, Armenia, Nepal, Chile, South Africa, and the Netherlands to film projects on Sustainable Food Systems, Sustainable Lifestyles & Education, Sustainable Buildings & Construction, Consumer Information, Sustainable Tourism, and Sustainable Public Procurement. Working with the programmes’ focal points and community members, Reese and the UN team explored how 360° video technology could best highlight the work of the One Planet Network and communicate the importance of sustainability. You can watch the videos at www.camponeplanet.org/campfire-360-video.
The Camp One Planet exhibit brings visitors a larger sampling of sustainable projects in the One Planet Forest, a virtual campfire with the 360° film series, and a photo booth where visitors can make their own commitment to consume and produce sustainably. Come camp with us and visit the online exhibit at www.camponeplanet.org!
