The paper considered our (Trudi and Kate\u2019s) recent research into fugitive archives, fleshing out relationships between the materiality of things and their human caregivers as a way to provide understanding of uncertainty and precarity as vital &#8211; even productively destructive\u2014 forces in more than human archives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\"><span class=\"gmail-s1\">The paper was part of a session that Trudi organized with Krista Caballero (Acting Director of Design Cultures &amp; Creativity program at University of Maryland, College Park). Krista presented her artwork,\u00a0<span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT345_com_zimbra_url\" class=\"Object\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kristacaballero.com\/work\/birding-the-future\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"gmail-s2\">Birding the Future<\/span><\/a><\/span>, and we were were joined by artist Karina Aguilera Skvirsky (LaFayette College) and American Studies scholar Melanie Armstrong (Western State Colorado University). The session<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>emerged from our shared involvement in\u00a0<span id=\"OBJ_PREFIX_DWT346_com_zimbra_url\" class=\"Object\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mappingmeaning.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"gmail-s2\">Mapping Meaning<\/span><\/a><\/span>, a collective who gather biennially around experimental knowledge practices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p2\">Our interdisciplinary session, \u201cSpeculative ecologies, intimacies and migrations in the archive\u201d brought together artists and social scientists to address way to recognize and advocate for transdisciplinary and interspecies futures within the ecologies of human made archives.
