The group read aloud and discussed some selections from Hugh Brody&#8217;s\u00a0book <em>Maps and Dreams<\/em> that Kate had chosen, and listened to narratives in Dane-<u>z<\/u>aa\u00a0Z\u00e1\u00e1g\u00e9\u0294 from\u00a0the Doig River First Nation&#8217;s virtual exhibit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualmuseum.ca\/sgc-cms\/expositions-exhibitions\/danewajich\/english\/index.html\">Dane Wajich: Dane-zaa Stories and Songs.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>________________________<\/p>\n<p>Saturday, July 15, 2017, 2pm<br \/>\nAudain Gallery<\/p>\n<p>This event will approach the subject of\u00a0Dane-<u>z<\/u>aa\u00a0dream maps through oral and written texts. Lead by Kate Hennessy, participants will read aloud from sections of Hugh Brody&#8217;s\u00a0<i>Maps and Dreams<\/i>\u00a0that relate specifically to dream maps. The group will listen to recordings of Dane-<u>z<\/u>aa elders speaking in\u00a0Dane-<u>z<\/u>aa\u00a0Z\u00e1\u00e1g\u00e9\u0294\u00a0and English about\u00a0the significance of these maps.\u00a0No preparation required.<\/p>\n<p>Hennessy is an\u00a0Assistant Professor at SFU&#8217;s School of Interactive Arts and Technology. She is the director of Making Culture Lab and member\u00a0of the Ethnographic Terminalia Curatorial Collective.
