How will we use this website?

In our experience, short writing exercises inspired by course readings and other things you encounter (news items, artworks, films, pop culture broadly) are excellent ways to synthesize responses to the seminar and facilitate discussion during seminar meetings.

As a part of your course participation mark, we ask you to write blog posts here––at least 5 posts between weeks 2-11––and to comment on one another’s blog posts in advance of the seminar discussion. Blog Posts will be 500 words in length and should include links to other media as well. This a wordpress website––please let me know if you have any questions about using it. There are lots of resources like this one (below) to show you how to do it.

Think of this as our curated space to share interesting media, images, and your thoughts as they emerge over the semester. Please use a ‘featured image’ on your post so that we contribute together to a shared visual space of ideas. You are not limited to only 5 posts–we see this as a minimum contribution.

We also ask that you post your pre-seminar presentation questions on the blog–we will discuss this more in class.

Please send Kate your email and preferred username so that you can be added as a wordpress author.

Thanks–looking forward to our discussions online and off.
